How do I update my availability?

As a creative, keeping your status current is what keeps this whole thing working. To update your availability, just click "Update Status" below your current status. Don't forget to click "Save." You can also download our stupidly simple, 4-button iOS app.

Most of the emails you'll receive from WNW also contain the four status buttons so you can update directly from your inbox (see image below.)

When updating to AVAILABLE SOON, a calendar pop-up will allow you to select the date you'll be Available next. When updating your status to FULL-TIME, you can include the company you're working for.

What does "AVAILABLE SOON" mean?

There is no exact rule for how soon Available Soon is, but when you know a job is about to end you can get ahead of the game and start looking for work before the current gig ends. Better to start digging the well before you're thirsty.

We recommend switching to SOON about 1-2 weeks before becoming AVAILABLE.

What happens when I update my status?

When you update your status, you're instantly promoted to the top of search results and updated on the Dashboard of every hirer who follows you.

How do I change my profile photo?

First click "Edit" in the upper right of your profile.

Once in edit mode click the "Change photo" button located under your photo. After choosing a charming representation of yourself your image will be scaled and centered. If you'd like a little more control over your image, crop it into a square in your favorite photo editing software.

Your photo will automatically save.

How do I add/change my profile background?

A background is another place to show off your work or your style.

Before making any changes to your profile click "Edit" in the top right hand corner.

Then click "Upload Background" in the left column under your profile photo. Choose your image to upload. The site will tile your image automatically. If you don't want a tiled effect, check the "Fullscreen background" box below.

To check out your full background image, click the grey box with the eye in the upper right to hide your profile. You guessed it, click the same button to view your profile again. 

To remove your background click "Remove Background" then hit "Save" in the upper right corner.

What video formats do you support?

No need to upload any video files, we like keeping our server bills down. Just paste the Youtube or Vimeo link to your video under the thumbnail you've uploaded and the video will play automatically.

How do I set or change my rate?

Before making any changes to your profile click "Edit" in the top right hand corner.

On the left side of your profile is the rate box. Click on the $ that corresponds with your rate. We've provided you with a range so you have some flexibility. When you're contacted by a hiring manager you can tell them if you typically bill hourly or daily. The breakdown is as follows:


$: 0-49/hr or 0-499/day                                 £: 0-20/hr or 0-200/day                               €: 0-30/hr or 0-300/day                            

$$: 50-99/hr or 500-999/day                         ££: 20-40/hr or 200-400/day                      €€: 30-60/hr or 300-600/day

$$$: 100-149/hr or 1,000-1,499/day               £££: 40-60/hr or 400-600/day                    €€€: 60-90/hr or 600-900/day

$$$$: 150+/hr or 1500+/day                          ££££: 60+/hr or 600+/day                           €€€€: 90+/hr or 900+/day


Remember to hit "Save" in the upper right.

Why doesn't my LinkedIn link work?

First, check to make sure you've only entered your LinkedIn name in the field on Working Not Working. The site will autofill

If that doesn't work it's most likely you have not set up a public profile on LinkedIn. If you do not have an /in/ URL, you have not yet created a public LinkedIn profile. Here's how to do it:

You can customize your public profile URL when you edit your public profile. Custom public profile URLs are available on a first come, first served basis.

Move your cursor over Profile at the top of your homepage and select Edit Profile.

You'll see a URL link under your profile photo like Move your cursor over the link and click the Settings icon next to it.
Note: "Update your public profile settings" will show up if you don’t have a public profile. Learn how to enable your public profile.

Under the Your public profile URL section on the right, click the Edit icon next to your URL.

Type the last part of your new custom URL in the text box.

Click Save.

How do I change my settings?

To change your settings (name/email/username/city/password), hover over your name and photo in the nav bar and click "Settings".
